South Africa’s macadamia industry association SAMAC will host four information events in Mpumalanga, Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape in September to meet and interact with members in the regions where they live and grow the country’s macadamia crop.

South Africa’s macadamia industry association SAMAC will host four information events in Mpumalanga, Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape in September to meet and interact with members in the regions where they live and grow the country’s macadamia crop.
Unlike in the past, SAMAC has designed information days this year that are relevant to members in each of its growing regions.
The topics and sessions lined up for the four events are aimed at providing practical and relevant information geared to boost production and best practice in the sector. Speakers will also address issues relevant to marketing and the trends driving international buyer and consumer sentiment.
The dates for the various regional events are as follows:
MPUMALANGA – September 8, 2026 at The Capital Mbombela
LIMPOPO – September 10, 2026 at The Ranch Resort
KWAZULU-NATAL – September 17, 2026 at the Premier Splendid Inn Umhlanga
WESTERN CAPE – September 22, 2026 at the ANEW Resort Wilderness
SAMAC Chief Executive Office Lizel Pretorius said the Mac Day events were designed to focus on farming realities and what these meant for the future of the country’s macadamia industry. “Not one central event, not more travel and not more time away from farming operations. Mac Day 2026 is about connecting the reality between how the domestic industry evolves and how the decisions made by growers on their farms matter to world market,” she said.
